How do I know that I am getting the HD audio soundtrack from my Blu-Ray discs?

None of the settings seem that clear and there is no indication that the HD audio is being sent through the HDMI lead!!

The SonyBDP-350 is able to output HD audio in bitstream form (where the amp decodes the HD codecs), or if you want the player to carry out the decoding, it can convert everything to LPCM apart from DTS-HD Master Audio.

When set to LPCM, you should see 'Mutichannel' or the equivalent, being displayed on your amp. Alternatively, if the player is set to bitstream, then the amp takes over where HD audio is concerned and you will see Tru-HD or DTS HD-MSTR being displayed.

That's the problem. There does not seem to be a bitstream option!

The player does not decode the audio and the amp is showing LPCM.

Hence, my uncertainty about getting the HD soundtrack.

When I play a normal DVD I get Dolby Digital on the amp display.
