They're good for the size, but not for the money. Something like the Wharfedale Diamond 9.0s are brilliant, but they are a bit bigger - if you can stretch to the higher price, B&O do some excellent small speakers, but they are expensive.
Is there anything of a similar style to the Bose 161? Its just that I can't imagine the Wharfedale Diamond 9.0s attached to my wall high up. I agree - they're not the most athetically pleasing 'speakers ever!
If you don't want conventional looking speakers, I would suggest looking at the Kef "Egg" speakers with a sub, but otherwise I should think the Bose models are the best.
