Slipped Discs

Hello, I have an Audiolab 8000cd which has recently produced a fault, the fault being that on any cd it appears to jump slightly 1,2,3 times on each cd, but only on the first track, then the disc plays fine, has anyone any ideas what might be causing this and how I would go about rectifying it, I realise the player is old, but as part of an audiolab system I love it's sound.

First things first - give the lens a clean with a CD cleaner to get rid of unwanted fluff around the mechanism...

I have used the cleaner as instructed, however the problem remains, I have done all the usual things like trying new sockets leads etc, but I am still scratching my head...on power up the first cd plays fine, then each subsequent cd thereafter has the skip in the first track, so I am somewhat bewildered.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated, many thanks
