can the lenth of cable affect the quality of signal.

It can yes on particularly long runs,but shouldn't really be an issue on an average install.

Thanks for the quick reply,i am having my pana v10 delivered tommorow and was just thinking wether or not to cut my excess cable of about 10 meters.

Depends on how long the total run is,but if the total run is shorter than 40m or so it wont be an issue at all.
