hi all
i have a sky dish on my house with no box ,if i was to purchase a second hand box would the system work without subscription, also would it record. . can i just get freeview channels or any extra ?

my second question is we are looking for a freeview box that records , it has to be very simple to use as it will be used by a 80 year old lady , i have a humax 9200 t and its a breeze but i cant run to one of those as a gift she uses a vcr at pres but its hard work . so if you have any suggestions on these i would be grateful

i does seem to be the norm that the cheaper they are the more complicated they are to operate, cant think of any cheapish easy to operate pvr's off the top of my head tbh.

the other option may be to have a look on ebay, that's usually littered with pvr's. you should be able to get hold of the humax 9200t and maybe even the newer 9300t if your lucky within your budget
