Has anybody noticed any difference in the volume required on any of the HD movie ? For example, when I have ITV HD I only need the volume at roughly 20 but when changing to a movie channel I need to crank it to approx. 30...

I have only really noticed this over the last few days and my TV et al is permanently going through my AV receiver if that makes a difference..?

Watched Lego movie last night. Normally watch @ -30dB on pioneer amp. Had to put it up to -20dB. Really annoying. No idea why it is like that?? Watching kids TV dvd right now at -30dB on amp volume.

They've added more channels recenly (things you would never watch) so further compression has been added. That and the sound from some movies/tv show are quieter

Sorry but that's nonsense.

Firstly the audio is CBR, secondly no extra channels have been added to any of transponders carrying the movie channels recently.

So there's no extra compression on them.
