must be testing by now?

There's been no tests, so i expect they're just going to rename/use Sky showcase as they do at xmas.

This is what they've done with Sky Italia, renamed one of the channels to Cinema 007 which went live on monday.

ah that makes sense.. so i wont need to retune if im not using a sky box to receive the channels with my sky card? cheers, mick

Just looked at the EPG for Sky Showcase from tomorrow and its showing Bond films, so as expected they're just renaming it, so your box should just pick it up without a rescan,as none of the other parameters will change...

Quick question - i'm just wondering will the broadcast films be using the same film 'masters' (if thats the correct term) as the new blu-ray box set? I really want the boxset from santa.. but hard to justify asking if the picture quality is pretty close on the sky broadcasts..

would the audio/picture quality be much much better on the blu-rays? also why arent sky showing them in order of release i wonder? thunderball first..

No idea tbh. But bare in mind it will be heavely compressed on Sky (compared to BR)

Having said that from what I've seen on Sky Italia, the PQ has been mostly excellent, with the notable exception of Octopussy, which was shocking for some reason...

i watched Dr No the other night, they are the Lowry remasters as it states in the credits.. i no longer have my Doctor No blu-ray so cant compare directly but the picture seemed pretty good, i found the music tended to drown out the dialog in some parts.. not sure if the same issue existed on the blu-ray.. be interesting to hear from someone who had the blu-ray and compared both to see how the HD broadcasts compare.. its wall to wall bond in our house as my son wants to watch them all now.. thanks sky :) ah well it beats the xfactor...

Dr No first surely !! Goldfinger PQ and SQ not impressed but expect later films to be better.
