Hello all,

Can someone please tell me if i should connect my skyhd box to my denon1911 via opitcal digital ouput ? will it give me a better sound or does the amp do that for me.

currently i have just got a hdmi cable between the two. if so, willi still need the hdmi cable for video ?

If you want Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound (when available) then yes, you need to use an optical or coaxial digital cable from Sky box to your Denon. As Sky boxes can only output stereo over HDMI, and yes you'll still need HDMI for video.
