I have a Kenwood Cinema System which is plugged into the coaxial out from the Sky Box for 5.1 surround sound. Yes, the output is low from the Sky box and requires the volume to be turned up high on the Kenwood AV amp. When listening to movies through the TV the TV sound also requires to be turned up.

Any way of changing it? Volume setting on my amp is waaay up compared to the pc and dvd player. In fact, I've had it turned full (99 on the hegel display) and is only moderately loud.

Check you haven't got an 'input trim' on the amp. The Sky volume isn't compressed, so will sound quieter but not that quiet. Some amps have an 'input trim' to balance differing inputs. Yours may be set lower instead of higher.
