Have finally cancelled my Sky HD subscription as it has been so problematic. It goes off this Friday (Yeah). Anyway got a leaflet from Virgin in the post today so gave them a call. Was suprised to be told they only have one HD channel. Is this true?

Also, someone at the weekend briefly said to go for Virgin and then get a D Box off eBay. What is that?
Finally, for those moving from Sky HD, what are you all changing to?

Thanks,

R

Yes, it is true, Virgin only offers BBC HD. It used to have ITV HD too, but that's now gone exclusively to Freesat. Virgin does offer some pay-per-view HD films (usually around £3-£4) and a few other free HD programmes.

But have you considered Freesat? The Humax Freesat HD PVR is only £299 and we've published more details here.

Andy im on the verge of getting a freesat PVR im currently a Sky HD Subscriber but to cut a long story short sky have just treated me so badly. The Panasonic PVR looks great and having read the review my mind is nearly made up.

Erm, a box that (sort of) enables you to get more than you pay for, content wise. Or Fraud as it's also known. I wouldn't. Really. They are getting better at tracing them, and are prosecuting people for using them.

Hi

This is not helping you but I've just signed up to Sky HD for 12 months. After having spent a considerable amount of money on a set I want to get as much HD choice as possible. Virgin and freesat's choice is laughable at the moment imo.

It may well be different in 12 months which would suit me fine plus someone somewhere mentioned the sky dish can be used for freesat too though I'm not sure about it.

What are your reasons for moving away from sky HD rooster?

regards
