which hd box are sky supplying with thier "betterbox " offer,i have the old Thomson HD box and have applied for the new box but havnt been informed which box they are sending me.Thanks.
it was sent by Sky to those who had the old Thomson HD boxes,sky.com/betterbox.Its to enable those who cant get Anytime+ on the Thomson boxes get it on a "New and improved"box.
All new boxes are Amstrads (though the most recent will be Sky branded) The betterbox offer is to take the old Thomson boxes out of circulation as they're not capable of running 'Darwin' (which left Sky with s/w licensing issues)
Unless you paid a premium for the 1TB (DRX-895) thn you'll get the standard 500GB box (DRX-890).
More reliable than a Thomson? almost certainly, but bare in mind Sky bought Amstrad with the intention of keeping development/maufacturing of STBs in-house and driving down costs even further....
