The couple of pairs we've tested have been a real case of style over substance, i'm afraid.... Two/three stars at best compared to same-priced rivals.
that does not surprise me due to the market place they are aiming for. But.......
But what? You'd rather have a 'cute' pirate-style bag and folding headphones than the best sound you could get for your money?

Get a pair of JBL 410 headphones and paint a skull on them if you wish. The 410's are the unknown kings of the portable headphones. The skullcandys might pass on looks, but they won't impress your friends down the skate park, on sound. I'd rather strap half a coconut to each side of my head, it would sound better.

how's about the creative hq1700 headphones, they're going cheap on ebay at the moment. you'd get far more street cred with them. the new HQ1900's are stunning.

Be sleek, not outlandish, that's real style.

I got a free pair of skullcandy icon's and was very dissapointed. I have some Sennheiser PX100 which cost about £5-£10 more but they are far better.

I am a snowboarder and many snowboarders are currently sporting skullcandy and they definitely define a lifestyle but I would say if the music is more important, shop around for something else.

PS I am starting to look for DJ headphones and might see what the skullcandy GI's are like but so far reading reviews it might not be wroth my time.
