Hi , i am AV - noob and want to know if I should use pure direct (direct stream) or stereo on my Pio VSX - 920 when I play music from my apple tv (HDMI connected).

Whichever one sounds best to you. I settled on Stereo in my house.

I use stereo too now, my sub is also turned on and no center, but when I use stream direct (pure direct) the centre is playing as well, :? , i thought pure direct was only 2.0, but I think I am wrong.

I can only tell you what happens with "Stereo Direct" on the Arcam, which means all processing is turned off (including bass and treble adjustment), and the sub doesn't work. This gives the cleanest signal possible and sounds best in my case.

I am sorry I was using a wrong setting, Pure direct is stereo only. But I think the subwoofer is on maybe because I set my speakers ( Dali Zenzor 1) at 80 hz?

Pure Direct is for pure stereo listening, this will switch off all the other circuits and carry the audio straight out. The sub will not work in this setting. My 82 has direct also this is for stereo listening and allows a sub to be used.

Iam sorry but on my vsx 920 the sub is working, i have my speakers on small (80hz). Because I use monitor speakers. But on pure direct my sub is def. playing.

:?
