Any reason why you want to upgrade the valves? I 've had one of these and considering the power output I thought it was great. The only upgrade I made was to stick a power amp onto it which opened up the music massively

You 'can' upgrade the 6N3J's with Western Electric 396A's (NOS) - not sure how much difference it would make however..
