Series recording with Sony recorders - using Virgin

Hi all

Do you know if the Series recording function on DVD recorders (like the RDR-HXD870, etc) works if I have Virgin digital ?

Great feature I think, but might go for a good Panny is it only works with a freeview receiver

AFAIK it only works with the internal tuners, not when used with an external decoder device, as the recorder would be unable to set the correct channel on the decoder to record from each time.

Just to check - will the EPG on any DVD recorder have a problem when I use Virgin digital ?
