Most of the time my Panny TH42PX80 works well with no motion or blurring problems. But now and again the scrolling text at the bottom of the SKY news screen going a little 'fizzy' before reverting to type. I know its a small thing, but is starting to worry me. Its 'fizzy' about 10% of the time. I am only really worried because if it IS a motion handling problem, it could be compromising my viewing at other times which are not so readily apparant. So...has anyone experienced this and do they know what the cause might be. Or ven better...the solution :) Thank you JJ

Hi,

If memory serves me correctly (it often doesn't) then you may have your SKY digibox set to output at 1080i resolution. I'm sure somewhere on this forum a user mentioned setting it to 720p and the scrolling became steady.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Thank you. Yes I have set it to default at 720p. Its not a massive problem in itself, just really wondering if it is a fault or something I should expect... JJ

Having just spent a while comparing the Sky news picture on my 37PX80 from the freeview source and sky HD box I would say that it is probaby down to limitations with the Skybox processing. I was unable to to detect the problem at all on freeview but it would occasionally occur with the Sky box at any of its three possible settings (1080i/720p/576p). It seems to be related to the background picture, occurring mainly when there are large areas of single colours. What the implications are for other programmes I don't know.

Thanks TVmog, much appreciated. I was wondering whetehr what is a simple problem might actually be a fault. I think I noticed it a very little on Freeview, but with SKY its quite regular. Didnt want any occasional motion problems to grow into anything that might spoil me football :)

I've actually noticed this problem on quite a few channels. Including but not limited to sky sports HD, sky news, ITV1.

I've not noticed any significant motion blurring issue, just the transient and intermittent fuzzing of scrolling text. I thought maybe it was a limitation of my Sony kdl40w2000 so I guess it's nice to know that it is down to the sky box instead.

It remains a minor irritation but that's all I guess.
