Screen burn in with Plasma - still an issue?

Is screen burn in with a new Plasma TV (Panasonic) something I'd need to worry about or have the current sets got around this problem?

Only if you intend to leave a static image constantly on the screen for a few days / weeks. For normal use, it won't be a problem (and that includes gaming).

It doesn't seem to be an issue now, and there are plenty of stories about people who left their set on all night and all was ok.

But to me, if it wasn't an issue the manufacturers would include it in their warranty. Most of them still put warnings in the handbooks, so take from that what you will!

We had a few panels at work that suffered, so I'm still a bit nervy about it!

I've been thinking about getting an LG 32PG600 plasma but screen burn is still a concern. I expect it has a lot to do with how bright you like the TV picture.
