It hurts to be scammed for 3700 pounds on ebay and to my knowledge the scam as cost over 161000 pounds

for uk ebayers .scammmed by a Powerseller who set a trap for buyers- Visionsoundexpress. over 270 positive

feedbacks then the Sting. Note he used banktransfer in business prior with very good feedback and i contacted

members to ask about the transaction before sending hard earnt cash only to be ripped off and worse is no

help or feedback from ebay. SO please be cautious but even then as in my case ..It still could go pear -shaped.

Ouch, ouch, ouch!

Not wishing to add to your pain, i'd remind everyone that you should NEVER use money transfers/postal orders to pay for goods on auction sites.

Credit cards and PayPal give you some protection - the others don't, which is why eBay, for example, is making it compulsory for sellers to accept PayPal (which of course eBay owns and gets a cut of, but I digress).

It's also wise, where possible, to stick with authorised dealers of products, so you can make sure you're actually getting the genuine article - there are a lot of fakes floating around, in all sorts of product areas.

Once again, commisserations for your loss...

Report the guy to your local CID.

My friend bought a Sat Nav in similar circumstances which never appeared. He reported the matter to the local CID and they visited the guy. The guy made up some excuse as to why it hadn't been sent and managed to wriggle out of it by giving my friend a refund. At the end of the day he escaped the law, but my friend was happy as he got his money back.

Similar to the post above (except without the police), bought a load of PSP games through ebay which turned out to be just games copied from the internet and burnt to CD (apparently they are playable with a certain version of the firmware but I wasn't having any of that). Eventually got a phone number by going through ebay and phoned up to speak to the lad's parents, who promptly refunded me and I as such agreed not to inform the police and FAST. From the sound of his dad, I think he learned a valuable lesson that day!

I feel for the OP though as clearly this is an organised scam that isn't likely to have any resolution, but you should definitely inform the police if you haven't already.

Ebay give very little .The telephone no given by them no answer voice mail full Supprised?

Police act slow it needs to reach 1 million pounds fraud before anything real happens .....that wont belong.

members from demark,Ireland and most from the uk have been stung! All this news is from members! which is restricted by ebay (their policy) So very difficult to track news on the subject.

This Scam was reported early but nothing from ebay. (they still Active)...Now it could be ToooooLate.

Ouch!!! How did you pay for the items you ordered?

Touch wood I havn't had any problems with buying on ebay. Although I always pay by paypal if I use ebay.

1st try e-mailing ebay, theres a link on here http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/ . Then get in contact with the police and your bank.

As for the fakes on ebay, well it's not just ebay you need to look out for. Pretty much anything and everything these days is being faked, from electrical goods, clothes to car parts. Unless you buy from a proper store or dealer then beware. I remember an article on the news about ebay and fake goods. They said designer handbags and shoes was number 1 & 2 on the ebay fakes list.

Sites like EBAY are perfect breading places for Scammers as they are relying upon peoples greed/short sightedness to make a quick buck or too. On Eba there are a few easy to follow guidelines to make sure you dont get scammed and having searched the E-SELLER mentioned in the OP there is no way on earth I would have considered buying from them. Yes they may be displaying a POWER SELLER sign but all feedback and items are kept PRIVATE why???? alarm bells should start to ring, Why would a ligitimate seller keep this info private? Also the fact they do not accept PAY-PAL is a massive no-no for me.

And the biggest one of all IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT'S NOT!

I would agree with d.j.

feedback and listings became private when the scam had started.

before the scam visionsound express had 98.8% feedback which included banktransfer.

they did accept paypal at first.

But this was a plan to Sting and many fell for it. and its difficult to contact other ebayers who were scammed because of ebay policy that they hide behind when things go wrong.
