Anybody had experience of setting up the DLNA client on a Samsung 7000 series? Friend has one and the manual points you down the road of using the Samsung-provided software for setting up a DLNA server on your PC, whereas I was thinking of sorting out JamCast for hime. Anyone have any pointers to get it up and running?

Often the best approach - remember to create a restore point on your PC/laptop (I've forgotten to do this before now

All you need is your computer to be running either Windows 7 in which DLNA is built in as part of the 'Homegroup' funtion or to install the media server software that came with your TV to an older version of windows. This is assuming that you have also either purchased the Wireless dongle or connected via CAT5e cable your TV via its RJ45 networking port to the network. Configure the TV to use the network, get back to me if you are having a problem with this and go forth.

If you are having problems and you are convinced the TV is on the network (tests all work etc) try this.

Put some data on a USB stick and plug this also into the back of the TV. This makes the 'Device' (on which content can be found) red button work. You should also be able to browse your network for your DLNA service by choosing another source.

If it still is not working I would recommend getting hold of another computer to make sure your homegroup is working as if does not work between computers something is wrong with the source computer and needs to be sorted first.
