RS6 Room size upgrade from BR5

I am think of upgrading from BR5's to RS6's. My room size is 12.5Ft X 12.5Ft.

My Amp is a A32 on the HF & Alpha 9 P on the LF.

I have read that the BR5s may be better in smaller rooms. Would my room be considered small ? Also the speakers have to be next to the wall, currently I have the bungs in the back ports of the BR5's.

Or do I wait and go for better speakers when I have the funds.

 

I have the chance of some secondhand rs6's, so if I sell the BR5's the upgrade cost should not much.

My RS6s are in a room 14x11 (roughly the same sq ft as yours). You should find that the RS6s should sound quite nice. Also, whilst not ideal, mine are only 2" from the wall, and sound fine.

If you have a shout on them secondhand, could you get them in your listening room to see how they sound first?

Our room is 17' x 13' and we have the RS6's firing across the narrow part (landscape) and they sound fine. They are also around 10" from the wall with a touch of toe-in.
