Obvious innit. Fugly son of a b..... (so is the amp ) that will prolly sound rubbish and wont sell all that great. So, whack the price up to stupid levels and pray that a few units get sold to cover R&D etc. But, Henley being Henley will punt it in the right places, as always. :p

I think it (the rebadged Artora) looks great if a little 'lifestyle'. The touch sensitive script controls are novel but will probably never get used. Would be interested to know if the Bluetooth audio quality is any good ... unless it's apt-x that's unlikely. I think they missed a trick not launching a streamer or including digital inputs. I put this in the same category as the Linn Kiko .. nice to have but too expensive for what you get.

This is no B&O clone. From what I'm led to believe, the Oxygene products are constructed from solid cast aluminium. This means the build quality should be superb. Add to this that the components inside are all meant to be high quality audiophile grade and the fact that the product is - again, I believe - manufactured within Europe and the UK and you have an answer to the pricing. It's high quality specialist audio from a highly regarded audiophile company. But to include new technology and therefore new customers perhaps. And as far as I can see, there's nothing wrong with that. Good for Roksan for having the sense and courage to do something different whilst still retaining their audiophile credentials! Class D can sound very fine when done properly and Roksan have a reputation to uphold - they know better than to produce a sub-standard product. AND - the more converts to decent audio the better. If the styling appeals to the wider market this is a good thing for us all. . .And it looks pretty damn cool, too.
