Hi WHF Team,

Reading the updated review on the Yamaha RX-V3900, it seems like it is very important to partner it with the right speaker package to get the best results.

Can you recommend some style speaker packages that would fit in well with the Yamaha RX-V3900? Would the award winning B&W MT-30 or KEF 3005SE be a good fit with the Yamaha RX-V3900?

Thanks.

BTW, which set of speakers was the amp paired with for the review? Could that have influenced the final outcome?

The B&W and KEF speaker packages you mention are good, but for AV receivers at that level you probably need something a bit better to get the most out of the Yamaha. Think Moniitor Audio Radius as a minimum.

And FYI, when we're testing kit we use several different speaker sets, not just one, so that doesn't influence the outcome.

I know they're not technically 'lifestyle', but they're still small and neat and leave many flashy looking packages standing with movies, but seeing as you're looking up to the MT30 price point, try the M&K M Series packages. We find it very hard to beat a Yamaha/M&K pairing when it comes to an all out AV system.
