hi, i have a musical fidelity b1 amp, tannoy revolution R1 speakers, how do you think the rega plant cd player will sound with the other kit.................ps am using an old denon dcd 425 at the mo

Planet would work well, but then so would an MF X-Ray, of whatever vintage. Lovely, big-sounding fast and dynamic players...

Non-matching aesthetics though. I can vouch for the v3 though - very 'hifi' (for good or ill).

Yes, it sound very HiFi indeed. Most like it and few don't. The A3 is the same as original X-ray inside but in a bigger (better) housing and seem to go for cheaper price in auction. It has more organic sound than the later X-ray.

Yeah an A3 is pretty much the same player, and will match in width if not in colour
