Hello,

Was looking at getting the Rega Fono Mini for basically recording lps onto my laptop wondering if this is a good idea and will it matter what usb cable I use? Was also wondering if it will make a difference to the sound of my turntable I have a Rega RP3 and a Rega Brio R with Wharfedale Diamond 121.

Thanks

The Rega phono mini A2D is indeed a cheap way to get LPs to digital files working only with moving magnet cartridges (which I assume you have).
I have not heard it but would be surprised if it is any better than the excellent phono stage fitted in the Brio-R. You may, in fact, end up with a worse sound or simply the same (I would think it best just to use it whilst copying LPs)
As to USB cables I will not get into a discussion as if you look on this forum there are plenty of threads regards this.
