Rega Brio 3?

Just a quick question!

My Father-in-law persuaded me to sell him my Pioneer A400 for a nice wedge of cash and now I’m bereft!

I’m looking for a new amp that is going to bring me as much emotion as the A400 amp did, fluid, punchy and very musical. I’m looking around, and I’ve seen the Rega Brio 3 amp which is in my price bracket.

Can any of you HiFi experts tell me, by looking at the kit in my signature, if this amp will gel well with the rest of my kit, getting on bit though it is?

Unfortunately my listening room is a conservatory about 15 feet wide and 22 feet long, with a laminate floor with the HiFi sat on the hard wall end firing along the length of the space.

My A400 had no trouble sounding fantastic in here, is the Rega worth looking at or shall I try something like the Pioneer A-A6mk2 or Rotel RA04 SE.

Thanks Guys,

My speakers are near the hard wall firing along the length of the room space
and I have no immediate neighbours but I do like it loud sometimes!

Tesler:Speakers are B&W 602 s2

So a large-ish reflex stand-mount with a pretty big bass driver and quite efficient at 90db. (5 stars from WHF in 1999 and Best Buy from HFC in 2000) that you like to play quite loud sometimes.

I cannot see any reason why the 49 watts-per-channel Brio 3 should not satisfy (given the efficiency of your B&Ws).

[Edit: sorry about asking which speakers. I don't recall reading your 'signature'. I should have.]

Thanks Chebby for your response, I take it then that the Brio would be worth an audition?
My A400's output was rated 50W, so it's about the same for the Brio.
I'm not interested in remote or gadgets just a good sounding amp with no frills!

The Brio should fit the bill nicely. Have a demo of it, and see what you think
