A last minute trip to London has been arranged for this weekend so I'm hoping to get a little time to peruse some vinyl (and maybe some CDs). So, can anyone recommend some stores. I'll be staying in central London (near Euston) and as time will be tight I don't want to have to spend too much time travelling. Is the Rough Trade store a good start?

Oh dear, sounds like all the vinyl may have melted by the time I get down there *blum3*

Just discovered Sister Ray online. Looks promising.

I used to work not far from there - it's an excellent area to focus upon as there are a few around there. Sister Ray is one of my favourites, a few yards south on Berwick St on the same side you have Reckless Records, and further south still (just before you get to the plethero of, um, adult shops) on the west side of Berwick St is Music & Video Exchange (not so keen on that one myself).

I was going to mention a couple more but they have since closed! :(

Heading a bit further south towards Covent Garden and you have Fopp...

This may also help - http://www.timeout.com/london/music/londons-best-music-shops - but as its over a year old google to see if they're still in business!
