I've only heard one pair of valve amps that I can remember and that was years ago! They where only 8W each, sounding amazing with classical/opera and I don't like opera!

A few I can recommend if you just want a good track to test a system:

as for my suggestions:

anything from album "Murcof" by Martes. outstanding sound quality and mastering.

track Sæglópur from album "Takk..." by Sigur Ros. how well your system can cope with very dense, rough music. almost noise.

track Szerencsétlen from album "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett" by Venetian Snares. for speed and timing evaluation.

should suffice for starters.

Probably the three most beautifully recorded albums I have are by Katie Melua and by all accounts she downloads very well too.
