I am planning to buy a set of wharfedale 9.5 floor speakers (just two speakers as of now) and matching it with marantz SR3001 and DV3001 player. I hvent heard it but believe that wharfs go well with Yamaha as well? Could someone pls give some guidance on which receiver would be a good budget option? Thanks.

I have learned to be a bit carefull with wharfedale speakers, they sounded ok with yamaha and have read they might sound good with marantz to.
They sounded very bad when we tried these with my mate's house on his NAD pre and rotel class-D amp.
The sound image didn't come loose from the speakers and was to colored.
Suprisingly they sounded more then ok on a little chinese Yulong AmpOne class-T amp.
I managed to win this amp on an Ebay auction for less then 70£.
