Hi all,
I have a Musical Fidelity A3 amp and A3 CD player currently feeding my beloved pair of Monitor Audio Studio 20SE's and linked together with Chord Rumour Bi-wire cable.
My problem is that I can't seem to get any bass out of it all. I can feel it and since I got the Chord Cables I noticed alot more punch but even though I've got the speakers right up against the wall it still seems weak. However, when I stand-up walk about the room I get loads of boom. So obviously I have a room that doesn't lend itself very well accoustically. Having said that, and this might sound like a contradiction, this set up does actually sound really good and the low end is there but I just feel I need to go deeper.
So, if you are all now confused it's probably because I can't make up my mind whether or not to change the speakers.
I've listened to other systems with much bassier low ends and really love hearing the really deep low notes. Currently I feel them but can't hear them. So, with all this in mind I'm considering putting the 20SE's up for sale. My reckoning is that I can probably get about £600+ on eBay. So, my real question would be does anyone have any advice on what good quality second hand speakers might be a good match for my amp and cd player.
How do the new Monitor Audio speakers compare to the likes of the 20SE's. I've seen some RS8's for £699, would they be anywhere near as good etc?
I know i'm going on a bit here but I'm really lost as to what to do?
Thanks in advance if you've bothered to read all the above!
