Posted this on another forum but thought I'd just get a few more views on this.

I currently have a Sony HTSF1000 and want to upgrade to a new home cinema system using seperates.

Is it possible to re-use the speaker cable?

Obvisoulsy at the mommet one end of the cables has the Sony Connector used to plug into the Sony AMP.

Is it ok and safe to just remove the Sony connector and re-use the cable on other speakers?

Is there different rated cables as to power etc?

Heres a link to the system:
HT-SF1000 (HTSF1000) : Home Theatre and hi fi : Sony : United Kingdom
Some people seem to say that expensive speaker cable makes very little difference when compared to cheap.
Would this apply here or am I just stuck with what I have?

Any advice would really help.

you could just cut the connectors off and re-use the sony cable, but i wouldn't. the cable that sony have supplied will be in all likelyhood be very cheap. imo you'll get much improvement by changing the cables to even budget ranges from the likes of qed or chord

Agreed.

It will work, but if your speaker wire is anything like the speaker wire on my old DAV-S550.....I wouldn't wire up my doorbell with it.
