RE:AMPLIFIER FOR KEF3005se speakers

i am confused as to a suitable amplifier for my KEF 3005se 5.1 speaker system. i intend to use it for movie purposes.i have a budget of £1500 to spend.

Any ideas from all members welcome

You could wait and see what Onkyo will be unveiling, or look at the Yamaha RXV3900, as it's the best I've heard the 3005's sound so far.

The Z7 may be overkill for the 3005 IMO, for the difference in budget I would opt for 7.1 as a better gain or changing out your centre for a Kef 6000.

benharlley: hi david, what about the yamaha dsp-z7 amplifier with the KEF3005se?Yeah, the Z7 would be overkill, unless you're looking at substantially upgrading your speakers over the next couple of years. The max I'd look at would be the RXV3900 really, with which they'll sound as good as they're going to get.
