RCA out options with DAC

OK, I now have my MF M1 DAC in place and my Onkyo ND-S1 dock arrives on Monday.

My primary setup from the ND-S1 will be to the M1 DAC and then to the headphone amp to listen to my ipod lossless tracks, but I would also like to connect the analog out on the DAC to my M6i 2 channel amp. I assume I can use some sort of RCA splitter/switch? I would appreciate some input on the best way to do this, as far as what to buy and whether or not it has any effect on the sound?

Actually, I just realised that I can probably use the XLR outputs to the 2 channel amp and RCA to the headphone amp. I guess this would be the best way?
