Hi all, I am after some suggestions...............

I have the partington broadsides and on top is the proac tablette reference 8 signatures.

Does anyone have any idea how I can raise my speakers by about 6 inches? When listening, I find myself slouched into the seat to get the sweet spot.

I don't want to put plinths below the stands as I slide the speakers out into the room when I can and slide them back when finished (for domestic harmony).

I cant afford to sell and buy some more so I see two options:

1) Some sort of block between the stand and the speaker?

2) Longer spikes?

Or a third option.

Many thanks in advance

A butcher chopping board with a granite choping board on top, with a thin sheet of material inbetween.

Many thanks Thaiman.

That sounds like a plan.

Would some stone, marble ect, cut to shape, and sandwiched together work too?

Maybe 2 pieces, fixed with blu-tac? That would give me 3-4 inches, which may work.

I would buy a thick chopping board (thick wood one) like this...

and then put a sheet of sorbothane on the wood

then put on top a granite chopping board (tesco - cheap!)

hopefully your speakers will now sit high enough and have minimum acoustic travel.

best of luck

Hi,

What did you end up choosing? I am thinking also raising my speakers a bit so your experience would be interesting. I have tiled floors with concrete beneath (I think!).
