RA-11 & Bletooth streaming

Fallen foul of the dreaded 'inability to post it first time' issue with this site. :wall: So hear goes again re. what I had originally intended to post.

Have been enjoying streaming iPad & iPod-based source material to my RA-11, via the built in Bluetoot receiver, but was having a problem with connecting the aforementiodned to my PC (desktop) and the internet so that Spotify, etc., would also be available. The issue has been the physcical separation between the two elements; some 30 meteres which as proved to be beyond the range of the current radios in either ite. So as I could not replace the RA-11's receiver I opted to do that on the PC.

Managed to find a Class 1 USB-based Bluetooth Radio; a Billionton with a stated range of upto 100 metres, at Clas Ohlson, for circa £20, which installed realtively easily on the PC, and that after some fiddling about with the Playback Device settings (again on the PC), RA-11 is successfully paired with the PC and I am now receiving/listening to Spotify & other internet based music content via the Rotel.

Thought this might be of interest to any other RA-11 (or indeed RA-12) owners out there...are there any? The plan is now to see how I get on with streamed content before deciding whether or not, at some point in the future, to add a dedicated streamer to my set-up. Should be an interesting time making the comparison. :?

We do...but never been happy with the quality when played from the iPad...strangely, and I know not why, the sound seems better when streamed from the PC via Bluetooth to the amp rather than wirelessly to the i{ad and then via Bluetooth to the amp...perhaps it is because of the extra 'hop' when using the iPad :?

Isn't there just always...

And I suspect that one of the 'techies' will be along in a moment to explain why I am not really hearing what I believe that I am hearing, etc.
