Thaiman, I've read some old posts and seen that you once had some Roksan FR5 speakers. Can you give me an idea of how good they are, ease of drive and whether you think they will work well with my amp (in sig). Cheers

Hi

That was few years ago, my was gorgeous piano black

The FR-5 was one of those speakers that I still could remember the sound very well, I also wrote a review (for myself!) on them so I know they were better than average at that price point.

The sound was very natural in the mid, slightly expressive up top although I wouldn't call them bright at all. Bass notes has obvious texture and unforced qaulity that rare for any speakers cost less than £2K (at that time anyway)

Best bit of the Roksan is their ability to throw up the soundstage that larger than the size of speakers suggested, it wasn't just wide from wall to wall but they created soundfield that has plenty of dept and air (around musicians) which make the sound a bit more closer to the real thing.

Bad point? I couldn't remember, but the review notes said, it could be tighter and faster! Whatever that mean at the time?

They should work with your Moon as Simaudio always known for fast and grippy kinna amp. I was using Sugden Masterclass pre/GamuT d200 Mk2 power.

I hope this help.
