Can anyone help me with Cyrus gears? The 1st question is How many type of PSX-R out there? Would a 9 years old one (dAD 3's period) be the same a current one? 2ndly...What is the main different between the 7Q cd player and The Cyrus 8 cdp? Many regards the 7Q as the best cdp Cyrus ever made but would the newer 8 sound better?. Thank you

I think there's about 5 versions of the PSX (more info here: http://www.cyrusaudio.com/product-downloads.asp?ProductID=78&DownloadCat=1 ) or 1 version of the PSX-R (more info here: http://www.cyrusaudio.com/product.asp?ProductID=15&text=spec ), I'm not sure what the differences are though. The dAD 3 can take the PSX-R.

I've never heared the CD 7Q but some folks do say this is a very capable CD player. I have the CD8x and I'm very happy with it. Cyrus are just about to release a new version of it's CD players, SE Servo Evolution. (more info here: http://www.cyrusaudio.com/content.asp?ContentID=100 ) This may tempt me to upgrade to the CDxt transport.

Perhaps you might like to ask your questions on the www.cyrusunofficial.co.uk site, there some very helpfull people here that could probably give you more info.

Are you thinking of changing to a Cyrus CDP then Thaiman?

I still own the 7Q (back up player) and spot a older type PSX-R with mission written on the back for bargain price so I am tempted. I heard the CD8x and very impressed but couldn't do a a/b comparison with my 7Q. I may pop in the forum you suggested, thank you.
