Quad Active speaker question

Can I please confirm this configuration works.

Logitech Squeezebox (connected by 1m RCAs) to Musical Fidelity preamp (connected by 2m RCAs) to Quad 11L Active Speakers.

This is right isn't it? - basically I just use the pre- outs into the speakers directly?

Normally you wouldn't use a pre-amp. I'm not familiar with the Squeezebox, though.

The Quads have their own volume control, and the Squeezebox remote volume control, so unless you're going to be connecting several sources, no you don't need the preamp. Just set the volume on the Quads to something comfortable, then adjust the level using the Squeezebox's volume up/down keys on the remote.
