OK, I've been trying my 1030i floorstanders with the NAD again and the basic approach to sound is exactly what I want. The only issue is that I find the soundstage too big for my room and the bass is a touch too much.

Does anybody agree that either the 2020 or 2010s would give me the presentation but with a soundstage and bass performance better suited to my situation?

what happened to the wharfedales

have you not recently found your ideal setup ? i think this hifi lark may be costly , home cinema seems to be at least 6 months between cycles

Found the ideal electronics for my budget and requirements but the speakers have always been up for further though. The Wharfedales are good but lack clarity and timing. The Q floorstanders bring those qualities into the mix, but are a bit too 'large scale' for my space.

never heard the 1030,but the 1050 seem more restrained on the mids and highs than the 1020.so you can get more detail with the smaller ones i think, less bass, but with the nad, they would sound fine. You dont find the 1030 a bit shouting above low and normal level?

ah , well as far as im concerned , i feel lucky to have an untrained ear , better for my pocket too ..

shooter69:maxflinn:you could change it to "pasaitywwwi" decipher anyone ?

Do they come with bungs; if so, have you tried them?

I think the 2020's would work very well either on their own bespoke stands or some decent stands like the Atacama Nexus 6i's etc... Deffo need to have them mass loaded though...

Is the bass too deep and boomy or is it just overwhelming the midrange and top end?

Thanks Dan. 🙂

No bungs on the 1030i and they are front ported. The bass is just too deep and boomy and I'm hoping the 2020s would solve that. I like the basic Q sound very much...

ok , the third letter , s , stands for "speaker" .. the last w , stands for "with"

Try some bungs MP; that could be your answer plain and simple!

The 2020's look gorgeous in piano black though
