Pure i 20 - lower volume?

Hi all, I just bought the above and it seems that my lossless tracks are much lower volume wise compared to the original cd- I have to turned the volume dial past the 12 o'clock to get some decent sound- any reason for this? is there a setting that I need to check? please help newbie to digital downloading of Music :doh:
