PS3 - How do I store videos and why so much fan noise ?

Hi , have the 30mg PS3 that I do not use for gaming anymore but solely for Blu-ray and storing a few photos but would like to know how I load video from my Panasonic SD card camcorder. I bought an SD adaptor and inserted into the USB port but though it registers , it does not show any files to export and save. Also on DVD playback after about 15 mins of viewing the fan starts up and is really noisy and runs constantly...to the point that you may aswell switch off. Blu-Ray is totally fine....any thoughts ? Thanks

Whatever format the cam records in is probably not compatible with the ps3. Or I may be talking out of my elbow..

Sure it's the fan and not the drive getting noisy? Either way I'd take it back- my PS3 is always pretty quiet.

What file format does the camcorder use?

Re fan noise, how old is the PS3? If it is fairly new then take it back. If you've had it a while check that the air intakes aren't clogged with dust.ÿ
