PS3 - DVD play problems...help ?

Hi, please can anyone help me... My PS3 plays Blu-Ray great, no prob..however I have just tried (for the first time) to play a standard DVD. The PS3 gives a message: '' An error has occurred. (800299D2)' '. The settings are currently as follows. DVD upscaler set to normal, BD/DVD Video Output Format HDMI set to auto, BD 1080p 24hz output (HDMI) set to auto. I am sure I just need a settings tweak - can anybody help, many thanks.

Unless someone on this forum knows, I would e-mail Sony. It doesn't look like a common problem.

Thanks for the suggestion - Sony Customer Service were great - rang them last Friday - a new PS3 (60GB) arrived this morning, with full 12 month warranty - the delivery man brought the new one and took away the old one.. it works as it should now... put my 250GB hdd back in.. The issue on the old one was apparantly a 'corrupted DVD player'. the PS3 is a great, versatile machine...
