They are called Protro heiban. Dont know if they are worth two bucks or two hundred. Can say u have to sit in right possition to get full sound and not much bass but single instruments like violin it does very well. I was actually surprized.

hope you can see pics in link:

they seem to be some sort of planar speakers of push-pull type. surprising enough the diaphragm is not stretched but only sandwiched. I wouldn't expect any hi-fi results from this design but I may be wrong. they seem to be very good for a pair of iphone speakers though.

like with all planars to get decent bass output you need decent size of the speaker too. due to dipole cancellation. and you'll need to have them firing straight at your ears too due to planar wave launch which is not conical but roughly the shape of the speakers.

Thank you. Im happy for my 10 bucks.

Build quality of speaker is superb and they look quite cool.

The Amp. Has a bit homebuild feel to it but nicely done.

Thinking about maybe hanging them down from ceiling in wires on each side of flat screen tv on wall.

Do you think they need space away from wall?

The amp is 2 x4,5watt if the speakers was worth the money it would have been fun with one of these miniwatt tube amps. For them

yeah, dipoles need some space from the back wall. but if you're really in dire need you could always supress the back wave with some felt or other sound absorbing material.

as for the amp; good choice. I can't decide between the pink or champagne version ;)

you could also check out this guy here, more or less in the same league. and offering a whooping 5W pc! 8) which is more than enough for TV speakers...
