Compare to few years ago TV now aday are less chunky and have thin bezel but not much has changed in the projector screen world. I mean; projector screen still have 2 to 3 inches border so my question is that what are the advantage of projector screen having a thick border than a thin bezel. If I go the projector route am looking to make a DIY screen that is thin and look more like a big plasma on the wall than a projector screen.

Never seen any borders that wide on a projection screen except at the top if you have to pull it down to get a good screen height.

Black borders are ideal for presentations as it allows you to focus better on the presentation; also it is easier to produce a good screen with a wider boarder than a narrower boarder.

If you buy a fixed screen that is permanently fixed on the wall, then most have a narrower surround.

Hope this helps

I am actually thinking of making my own screen smiliar to the black diamond zero edge. I want the large flat pannel plama like style of screen. I tink the black diamond zero edge is only 3 inches thin.

Do you have an idea of a screen material to screen a screen like black diamond zero edge. Don't know why but i have the idea of perspex or plexiglass in my mind stuck to a screen material
