Pre-amp / power amp combination for Cerwin-Vega xls 215s ?

Hello again

At the end of my previous thread on these speakers someone recommended a power amp...

I have never used a pre-amp / power amp combination, but am interested in investigating this as a possible upgrade to the system to power the CV's with recommended wattage.

Unfortunately the Yamaha amp I currently have does not have power-amp outputs so I would have to buy both components.

I don't really know the best options here - but the Behringer A500 seems like good value. Could anyone recommend a good value pre-amp to go with this ?

I do occasionally play my Project Debut II turntable (but this has a built in phono stage).

DJ amp for PA speakers?

Not at all sure why you would need a so called 250 watt amp to drive speakers with that quoted efficiency. A 25 watt tube amp may suffice.
