Hi all!
Brit advice needed 🙂
Two weeks ago, i sold my Rega Brio R + Rega DAC. Excellent sound!! Speakers: Audio Note AN-K.
But after 1.5 years with this set up, i wanted soooo bad to try the Naim Qute. So i got it,- with recommended NAC5A cables.
I love the UQ for all it`s features so it is a keeper, but not quite sure i am a "Naimist" sound wise..
The low end is really tight and good, but the mid and highs just doesent sound natural and "right" in my ears.
I would prefer the mids to be more open and organic, the highs to be more airy, spacious and resolved. Brighter maybe?( but not edgy/sharp.)
(Maybe the speaker match is poor. It would be great to try out well known, good matching speakers.
Unfortunately, here in Norway the dealer who sell Naim doesent sell PMC or Neat. So no demo possible.)
I am wondering; if i got a nice power amp like Densen, -using the UQ as a pre, which components sound signature would shine through?
In general, is it the pre or the power who colours the sound most?
All opinions welcome!
BR,
Erik
