Power amp condsiderations

If i wanted to add a power amp to my existing set-up, what would i need to consider?

I have been reading that to play some power hungry speakers (SCM 19's) loud you would need considerably more power.

What about system matching? Costs?

This is just for my personal knowledge, no purchase intended

correct: to double the loudness, you'd need 10 times the power.
Having said that you would normally not be actually using the max power of your system anyway..
