Posting error

When trying to post to the PS£ slimline review thread, the page took forever to return and then displayed the following message....

Access Denied for PJPro
The account you are attempting to login with could not be completely activated.

Please contact your site administrator to activate the account or enable automatic account activation.

However, the post was saved.

As a general observation, the site does seem remarkably slow even by recent standards.

I had the same error a few minutes ago on a completely different thread, although I was just opening it...I had opened a few tabs up of threads I wanted to read on one of them came up with that error.

I haven't seen this, but I suspect it's due to the resource hogging we have on our servers, particularly in the evening. We've actually found a possible resolution for this today, and will be looking to get it in place this week.

Well it went live today and we saw an immediate improvement in server performance. Anybody finding it better here tonight (subjectively)?

Initial indications look promising. The performance enhancement has taken the site back to what it use to be like.

Ha. Well I'm on a roll of fixing stuff this week (check out stuff.tv...), so I'll be seeing what else we can do when I'm back in the office on Monday - the performance fix we did was actually on another website (it was a resource hog), which has given the other sites more room to breathe, so to speak. So just imagine what it'll be like if we do the same on all the sites...(hint: not much difference, probably)
