Popping

Dearest Hifi peeps,

Need to know if this isn't a major problem but has become a little worry for me. Whenever I change the output from either Aux to CD or vice versa, there is a deep popping sound from the speakers. It is always at the same level even if the sound is turned right down. This popping sound also happens when I turn the amp on as well.

Now this isn't a reoccurring problem, sometimes it starts up or switches between outputs without a fuss.

Any ideas?

Would help if you told us what amp you're using, and how old? Sometimes the switches need cleaning on older amps.
