Please help me find a replacement Volume Potentiometer

Having finally found the source of a fault in my amp i am now in need of a replacement vol pot. It is an Alps volume pot but Alps have not got back to me regarding where i could source a replacement. So, if anyone nows of a shop that sells this sort of thing please let me know. cheers,

60K (japanese symbol)? Is that not the omega symbol by any chance?

It looks like this O - in which case it is a 60k ohm pot.

The x2 means it's a dual (stereo) pot.

You could probably get away with using a 50k pot or even a 100k with a 47k resistor in parallell with the two outer terminals.

I suspect your biggest problem is going to be getting one that matches physically - both in terms of pins and the shaft.

thanks tony - it certainly is a japanese symbol and not the omega symbol. the rest i had already figured out - and have been looking for a "close" match to the pot but no luck so far.

I realize this is an ooold post. But I'd like to find a datasheet/type number on those pots too. (Strange Alps did seemingly not put a type number on them!) Has anyone found more info???

PS: There's a 50k version available on the bottom of this page
