play 24/192 on 24/96 headphone amp.

Hi. I'm about to get the Musical Fidelity v90 hpa. From what I understand the device is capable of "playing" 24 bit / 96 kHz audiofiles.

Question is what happens if I play a 24 bit / 192 kHz audiofile? Will the amp/DAC be able to handle that, will the file automatically be "downgraded" to 96 kHz?

Its going to get 'downgraded', pretty sure of that, but whether or not you'd notice is the question.
